EMAIL APRIL 9, 2026

 Hello Ladies!

This is the first email I have sent this year due to my recent move and renovation to a new home.  But I promise not to bug you too much for the rest of the year.

There are several items I want to mention in this email and they are listed below.

  1.  New LCC schedule for 2026.  Unfortunately, Kingwood changed our match play date again so please change your schedules.  Attached is the new amended schedule.  For you ladies that are not participating in these match play events if you are interested or have questions, please contact Marion Nojek or myself and we will be glad to discuss with you.
  2. Rules—Out of Bounds area on hole #9.  Just want to be sure you are all aware that on the right side after the cart path if your ball goes into the woods this is an out of bounds area.  You can either take distance and stroke or use our local rule which allows you to take a drop of 2 club lengths into the fairway across from where your call went into the trees.  The local rule is a 2 stroke penalty. On hole #12 the flowerbed around the green by the cart path is a man-made hazard so you get a drop out of that area no closer to the green without any penalty.
  3. Playday give me putts.  I understand that there are some members who do not want to give putts on any playdays, but we decided to give 12 inch or less putts in all games except low net/low gross play days.  We did this to speed up play on the greens, and it does help.  If you are not sure if your putt is 12 inches, just go ahead and putt it.  For you ladies who want to put everything into the hole go ahead but do not expect the rest of your group to do the same.  We all need to play by the same guidelines to make it fair for everyone.  Again, remember we are doing this to speed up play.

And please go to our website for information on our playdays, Interclub, LCC match play, and tournaments.  That website is LWWGA.com.

Have a great day!

Sheri CaprioPresident, Lake Windcrest WGA

I have some updates about changes and upcoming events to give you information about.

  1.  Playdays—-Our playdays are Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday usually with a 9:00AM shotgun.  The pro's at the club have offered to make our scorecards for Wednesday and Saturday which is when we have games. (Friday is a fun playday.)  Since we are no longer doing our own cards you must sign up 2 days before the playday to give the pro's the time to get our cards together.  If you need to join on a Playday and missed the sign up please contact the playday rep.  Wednesday the rep is PJ Mullarkey, Friday the rep is Elaine Azark, and Saturday the rep is Allison Kim.
  2. Tournament Results—We have had 3 very successful tournaments this year.  Hopefully you played in them but if you did not, please plan to join us at the next event which is Guys and Dolls on August 16.  For all the results, please go to our website at www.LWWGA.com.  If you have not been to our website please go there and take a look at our information, pictures of tournaments, and other information.
  3. Guys & Dolls Tournament—August 16--- This event is where the MGA and the WGA play together in teams usually with the ladies being the captains of the teams.  Last year this was a very fun event so we would like you all to mark your calendars and plan to join us.  The MGA will be putting the event together and a flyer will be coming as we get closer to the event.
  4. As it gets hot this summer please remember to play ready golf so we can finish our round at 4 hours or less if possible.

Thank you, have a great summer!

Hello ladies!  Hope you are warming up and getting ready for the start of our 2025 golf season.

Either yesterday or 2 weeks ago you should have received an email from Annemarie Tobin our statistician and tournament chair, giving you a new sign up link for our SignUp app which you will use to sign up for our 2025 season that starts February 1st.  Please check your email for this and be sure to start signing up.

On February 1st our season begins and on Wednesday and Saturday we have competitive games which are optional.  On Friday we have a fun playday with no sponsored games. (If you want to do side bets that is OK.)  The organized games are listed on the SignUp app and you buy in with $2.00 that you give to the clubhouse before play.

Also, on February 20th is our first match play competition with Augusta Pines at home.  You can also sign up on our SignUp app for this match if you are available and would like to play.  This is the LCC match play, and we have 9 matches thru the year.  Everyone will play to a 25 handicap even if you are a higher handicap.  And don't be shy if you have a higher handicap because we may need you to play.

We need 10 players that will play with a partner to compete against the other team.

And on February 26th we have our first WGA tournament, ABCD, that you can also participate in.  You will sign up when we send out thew flyer about this tournament with the link on it to sign up.  This is a great tournament so please mark your calendars and plan to play.
